Project Facilitation
Salt ponds and wetlands are increasingly being seen as important and fragile ecosystems. These ecosystems support a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. They also perform valuable hydrological functions, contribute to groundwater recharge, improve water quality, and offer recreational and economic benefits.
Restoration of a salt pond or wetland would be defined as the manipulation of the physical, chemical or biological characteristics of the site. The goal would be to return the site to its natural and historic function(s).
Restoration can be broken down into sub-categories in order to understand the amount of work and progress which needs to be undertaken. Re-establishing, rehabilitating and enhancing the site are considered to be some of the different aspects which can be looked at to when determining the best methods for returning a salt pond and wetland to its ideal state.
Ocean Caraibes can help with the restoration, re-establishing, rehabilitating and enhancing of your salt ponds and wetland areas.
